The Youth Advisory Board’s (YAB) purpose is to ensure that youth have authentic engagement in the process and their voices are centered at the core of the work to end youth homelessness.

Local YABs participate in and inform the Balance of State’s business pertaining to ending youth homelessness. This includes:

Reviewing and suggesting revisions for policies and procedures
Providing support for or recommendations for edits to new grant proposals
Community engagement and education on youth homelessness at awareness events
Focus groups
Advocating for youth
And much more

YAB ensures that information and input from youth and young adults is brought back to the board and influences programs working to address youth homelessness. Local YAB boards work collaboratively across the state of Wisconsin to vocalize gaps and needs pertaining to youth and young adults.
